Absynth 2.04 not working in Live 5.2.2 and 6.09?

I haven't used Absynth in a while. It seems that Absynth 2.04 is not working on XP as VST. When I drag it into a midi track I only get a loud beep and Live becomes unresponsive. Why's that?
