Live crashes when moving video window w/multiple screens

I can pretty reliably freeze/crash live while using video and multiple screens on my new laptop. This could be caused by faulty graphics drivers, but quicktime player itself as well as other players show no such problems. The only solution so far is to completely disable DirectX in quicktime preferences (use safe mode/GDI only), and even that is not 100% reliable.
Here are typical scenarios:
Open a set on screen 1, video window playing on screen 2, move video window to screen 1 --> video playback freezes. move back -- still frozen. Move the video file under the cursor in the arrange -> seems to fix this. Sometimes Live crashes during this.
Open a set on screen 1, video window playing on screen 2, move another window (e.g. windows explorer) to screen 2 --> Live crashes.
am runnig XP Spp2, latest Live and quicktime, graphics drivers are patched laptopVideo2Go for Nvidia (again, no problems with other video software, including quicktime player itself). The graphics card is Nvidia 8600GS with DDR2 memory. Tested with both DVI and VGA external monitors. My older laptop (ATI mobility Radeon) has no such problems.
