It's a f*cking media circus. If the parents weren't attractive doctors, would the world really care? I think they're guilty as hell (albeit accidental), and are trying to pull off the world's biggest con.

How many other children around the world are abducted, killed, die of starvation/AIDS/war/etc every day, and don't get worldwide press coverage, or financial support from Richard Branson?

Heard about the new Renault McCann? Fit three kids in the back, and one in the boot!

wouldn't be the first time that the murderer was acting concerned and playing up to the media.

I think the question is, does anyone think the portuguese police force would actually try and frame the mccanns considering this case is being watched by the western world's media ? Anyone got any thoughts on this ?

the media circus is suggesting that the portuguese police think the child died of an overdose of sedatives/sleeping pills. If that were true, it's pretty easy to comprehend why the parents who are doctors would be so eager to cover it up. Bye bye medical career, hello negative equity. Assuming they live in big houses with a big mortgages that is. a light jail sentence & the guilt would be the least of their problems

and yes there are others missing in the world its sad that they arent getting the amount of coverage as madeline is..

in my opinion, a poll is not the appropiate way to find out if someone is guilty or not and a missing child is an OT subject which has not to be discussed here.

Truth is - if the parents were a Builder and a Hairdresr they'd have been strung up by the media and destroyed long ago.

The fact that they are doctors shouldn't mean that they are not held accountable.

Is it ok to use sedatives on your children? (Wether you are licenced to do so or not...)

I agree, that if they were working class shmoes the media may have crucified them ages ago for their negligence - leaving the kids un-attended while they go out on the piss, and some creep steals the child. assuming that's how it went down.

On the other hand, sticking with the man slaughter theory [accidental overdose of sedatives/sleeping pills] I believe a builder and his hairdresser wife would be quicker to confess because accidentally giving your child an overdose does not mean you cant operate a cement mixer or a hair dryer. A couple of doctors who gave their child an accidental overdose of sedatives would be struck off, and would never work in the medical field again. That's not even speculation, that is exactly what would happen. If the McCanns are guilty of dosing maddie with sedatives, they have a greater motivation to cover it up.

I dont think these people are guilty of anything other than just wanting their daughter back. The less than intelligent persons on here putting up 'jokes', or rather not jokes, about this very sad situation should be ashamed of themselves.It's not funny at all - hope your conscience(s) are clear and you are sure of why you 'laugh' at this dire situation. Ignorant beyond belief.

The McCanns situation is so OBVIOUS!!!! Their daughter is missing, the Portuguese police are crap, and seeing the international media interest around, they are turning the tables on the McCanns just to make the Portuguese police force look good, like they got a quick result...pat on the back to them and all that shit!!! Well, fuck anybody who thinks the McCanns are guilty, they aint!!! My prayers go out to Maddie and her parents (and I aint even a religious person) and I just hope little Maddie is alive. If she is, alas, NOT alive, I just hope that she is found soon and laid to rest in peace.

The only people who know if they are guilty or innocent are the McCanns themselves. All this is just speculation and anyone who says they are innocent is as much of an idiot as anyone who says they are guilty. Really, threads like this are unhelpful and probably prejudicial to the legal process.
