Hello, I have been searching high and low for a small Midi foot pedal to tap tempo into Live. I do not want one of those huge Behringer ones. I just want a simple solution. "The tap tempo pedal".
I am a guitarrist so I have enough pedals. I do not want to have even less walking space on stage I just want one dedicaded midi input one or two maybe, no more than that though.

Any ideas?

if you don't mind using software to convert program change messages to notes or keystrokes, here is your winner:

If you already have a midi keyboard connected, maybe you can simply use a sustain pedal

very cool tunes btw.

what other midi gear do you have? there's also foot switches out there that are for sending midi commands for industrial or office applications, you can map keyboard switches to tap tempo, it doesn't have to be midi.

Apple Remote as Wireless Controller

Hello, I found the solution to my problem. I wanted a way to tap tempo in a musical way without consuming too much space. After looking through Midi pedals and doctored Qwerty keyboards on YouTube. I came up with the most elegant solution.

Using a $15 software called "Mira" and Apple Remote velcroed to my guitar bridge now I can tap tempo while I play my guitar!!!

"Mira" allows you to send whatever keystroke to whatever application. It can turn off the Apple Remote's default so that one no longer launches "Front row".

You can launch clips, press play, tap tempo or launch you email if you prefer!

All wirelessly (absolutely no midi cable mess), elegantly, compact and remember that this device has 7 buttons to program!!!

I hope this is useful to someone as it has been for me.

Cheers,
