How should my aggregate device be set up?

Hi,

I still can't seem to figure out how to cue in my headphones. I'm using the aggregate device so that I can have the built-in output going to my headphones and the output from my Inspire 1394 going to the mixer/speakers.

If this is the case, surely the aggregate output device in the audio output device section in ableton's preferences should say that I have 4 outputs available? At the moment it says I only have 2 outputs available. I think the problem is due to the settings on my Audio midi setup.

Please help - An accurate description of these settings could be the answer to my problems - I think I have tried every settings combination possible and I'm now beginning to think that I can't get the four stereo outs I apparently need because I've played around with these so much.

Cheers

B.

yep thats how aggregate devices work with live, if you have grouped together two devices that have a stereo output each in "audio midi setup" and select that aggregate device in the preferences of live - you will be using whet appears like a device with two stereo outputs.
Ive done it myself using the built in output and a imic. the delay on both is different (which is a little offputting for beatmixing) but it does work.

the system I was using was a g4 12" powerbook, live 6.? and iMic
