[minimal dub] Double R

Just posted a new track on my Virb page (sorry no direct link).
It's the first one in the player .
Double R
Just some noodling on the ARP2600 V going thru all kinds of delays and reverbs (PSP 84, Audiodamage Dubstation).

Really liked this. Nice airy prooduction too. Which delay you using?

Hi, glad you liked it.
The delay is a rack with 2 delays running in parallel, the smoother one is PSP84 and the other is Dubstation from Audio Damage.
There's a bit of a signal flow in the rest of the rack that makes up the sound, it starts out with TC Electronic's Filtrator, with a little bit of sample'n'hold lfo action of the cutoff, played around with its (great) distortion stage. Then it goes into the PSP84, and lastly into BlueTubes TubeScreamer (magazine freebie) for some extra punch, dirt, and mono sound (!).
The second line goes into dubstation and then the spring reverb section of NI's B4.
Both lines then go into Sonalksis compressor (the green one, not at home @ the moment).
But the most important thing is the automation part, you could do this with almost any kind of delay plug-in, also the ones that are built into Live.

its nice - great production
but if i was the bassplayer in that virtual band
i'd commit hari kari by bar 17
dub is all about the bass as melody
'lead with the bass'
ie jam it out a bit
at least some variation?
a 2 bar bass loop isnt very dub to my ears...
(sorry, can u tell i'm a bass player?)

Lol, you're very right about the lack of variation.
I guess the drummer would be rather bored as well.
I'm gonna try and play some variations of the bassline, and generally make it a bit more involving that it is now, perhaps shorten it a little as well.

funny thing is, i'm no drummer
but as a bass player i am a big fan of drummers
& i have no problem with yr rhythms....
in fact all the other tunes i listened to until they ended....
a good sign!
but maybe thats the bassplayer in me,
i just want a drummer to stay sober enough
to hold the beat together for the whole song!
