Well this could be user error...you decide.

Rather than going through the problem again...check this link.

It would seem either ableton didn't record my 8 bar loop at 8 bars or there was some glitch in the follow actions.
The thread explains with pics, I'd be interested in peoples opinions on this please.

iknowuknow wrote:I have an 8bar drum loop.

I have the length of the follow set to 8 (obviously)

I have the probability boxes set as

Box 1 = play again 1
Box 2 -= no action 0

Now the the loop does six cycles of 8 bars then stops for a cycle of 1 bar adnstarts again ?

I just want to have the 8 bars cycle withotu stopping...what would be the right follow action ?

Obviously I could do this using warp...but I don't want to.

Any help peeps..Chaars
I can reproduce the glitch with simulating a loop with follow actions in a unwarped clip.
But I really don't see the point in not using warp mode repitch as i always assumed that this doesn't process the file at all if it's played in the original tempo.
I have to thank you though for giving me cause to test if this is really true, so here's what I did:

I played a music file that was recorded at a defined tempo, set it to warp mode repitch and resampled 4 random bars of it. Then I turned warp off, played again and resampled the same 4 bars. I loaded the resulting files into Wavelab and did a file comparison (I could have used the utility to hear if they cancel each other out, but who needs to trust his ears if he has a computer  )
Result: The files are identical. Playing back a file with warp mode repitch doesn't process the audio at all. My assumption was exchanged by security.

Please try yourself and prove me wrong.

Just did the same test with warp mode beats: Again identical files.
