Alright im a still a new bee in this digital world and i need a detailed guide of how to get a sample recorded into ableton.. so i can chop it up and use it to make a beat

I am running a Mac book.
I have a m-audio (fast track pro) soundcard
i have a Behringer premium 8-input 2-Bus Mixer Xenyx

How do i get my ableton to PICK UP A SIGNAL I HAVE NO IDEA WHY ITS NOT WORKING PLEASE REPLY

can ableton record vinyle in any way.. please som1 help?

Does anyone know if i can connect and how can i connect a turntable to the m-audio fasttrack pro and than produce a sound on ableton... man

Hi,

To record a turntable, you need to connect the turntable to a phono preamplifier, because a vinyl is "pre-equlized" so that it can be printed. The phono preamplificator re-equalizes" the output of the turntable, so that it sounds as expected. In turn, you'll have to connect the line output of the phono preamplifier to the line in of your sound card, and then record in Live as you would record anything else.
