cd's are only 16 bit. 44100 khz Any other format/ bitrate 24 or 32 bit will not burn.
you'd need to dither the file before burning to an audio cd.

Dithering is NOT required, though often recommended. The minimum you need to do is reduce the bit depth to 16. This can be easily accomplished in the "render to disk" menu item in Live.
Live 8.4.2 / Win 8 Pro 64 bit / Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHZ / 8 Gb ram
Presonus Firepod / Axiom 49 / PadKontrol
Various guitars, keyboards, sax and friends

Actually, it's 44.1 Khz, not 44100 kHz ;)

and, yeah, as dancechris mentions, dithering is not required.

Although some people use the word "dither" and "reduce bit depth" interchangeably, since you (hopefully) only apply dither as you truncate your samples to 16bit.

Use Audacity (free sound editor) for bit depth reduction and dithering.

thanks guys, after reading your replies I realized my error. Sadly I actually do know the difference between dither and bit depth reduction. And that 44100 hz is 44.1 khz.
I generally try to check myself when offering help, so thanks for lookin out guys.
I'll double check my advice better in the future.

;)

I just didn't want Samurai looking for that "dither" function in Live, since he won't find it.

My CD player plays audio files sampled at a rate of 44.1 trillion microherz.
