glitches when dropping clips into session view. help please.

whenever i drag a clip or .als into a playing set i get glitches. any advise on how to get around this? i tried playing with the latency buffer but no luck. i know a lot of people play live sets simply by dragging stuff into session view, and that's what i want to do, but without the glitches.

some feedback would be nice. btw i'm using a mbp with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz and internal soundcard. someone must have experience with this right?

In many cases of glitches, I'm changing the process priority to low or high, depends...there is a small soft i use to do this auto:

i think he's on OSX though...
what soundcard are you using? are you using the latest drivers for it? what other programs/processes or external stuff (midi controllers, wifi etc) are running?

I can't speak for you. BUT. I had the same issue audio would glitch when I dragged stuff around in arrangement view...It was glitchy and physically delayed WHEN dragging stuff around. I came up on a free Nvidia Geforce video card w/ like 256mb of video ram. Problem SOLVED! Might work for you.

Yes it is a probably a graphics rendering problem -
Try to keep tracks folded up in the arrangment if you can, as it seems to take a lot of resources to draw all those waveforms

i'm pretty sure it's not a graphics problem. i'm on a brand new macbook pro with a 256 MB graphics card. besides it's not when i do the actual dragging, but when i'm dropping my clips. and i've discovered that i only get glitches when i drop clips that's using AU plugins. ableton instruments and audioclips are fine.
very frustrating as i'm about ready to hit the clubs, but obviously glitches on stage won't do.

Maybe you should change your thread name to 'glitches when dropping'
