when I select my RME Hammerfall's HDSP Midi in (1) as input, Live shows me a 'Failed to open dialog'. Why's that?

the RME is working normal under Cubase, Traction, Bidule, Reason and all Native-Instruments plugins. So what's wrong?

forgot to mention

I am on WindowsXPsp1 by the way.

Tried my Sony Vaio (also WindowsXPsp1) using the same Hammerfall and same drivers and MIDI in is working.

Why?

bump!

no news? I can't use my RME's MIDI input with Live at the moment. I send the log-file to Christian. What can I do about it?

Please, any help is very welcome!

have you tried 3.0.2??? I have had great stability on xp pc with 3.0.2, and I have multiface/cardbus and the midi has worked perfectly at all times. As far as I know 3.0.3 has no advantages for pc users, and I've definitely read about glitches with .03 on the forums.

thanks for the help. I tried to reinstall 3.0.1 but no luck: same problem.

when I open a MIDI device as rewire slave, Reason for example it show me a dialog that the MIDI in is already in use, so probably Live has opened the MIDI port so I can't select it. should be a very simple thing, but I can't solve it.

Ableton?

maybe the RME midi port is selected as a midi sync in Live or elsewhere? DO you use midi ox/yoke at all? Sometimes I forget to launch it and don't get midi til i do. I'm sure you've tried it all--that is really strange.

found the issue:
VirSyn Tera 1.5 demo which I used as rewire2 slave seems to leave leave the MIDI in open since it doesn't contain a close button. VirSyn should change this I guess, the Tera sounds great but this issue...
