HELP!!! (Altering the levels in a pre recorded DJ mix)

Hi everyone, i am new on here and would really appreciate somebody's help regarding this issue

I have just recorded a Dj mix in ableton 6 and one of the tracks is too quiet from the point the mix in starts, to the point where it drops and the outgoing tune ends.

I saved the live set and all i am wanting to do is to go back into it and turn up the volume on this one block of audio that represents that tune. I have messed around a bit and the block highlights itself luminous green and sets parameters, but only for 2 bars. I just want to set those parameters for the whole block and turn it up and save the changes.

I hope this makes sense, sorry if i havent explained it very well. Any help would be massively appreciated as i dont want to have to record the entire mix again.

Thanks very much in advance, Paul

Sounds to me like you are in Arrangement view, trying to draw in a volume envelope?

(see manual under automation, as well as session/arrangement views if you dont know)

It also sounds to me like you are in Draw mode with the grid set to 2 bars.

You can:

1. continue to draw two-bar "blocks" across the length of the whole quiet song

or

2. open up the volume automation track
Hit Contrl-B (to exit draw mode)
DOuble click on the red line at the end of the last loud song to create a dot (an automation point)
double click on the red line again, right before the quiet song
click and drag the second dot up to the volume level desired.
(everything after that second marker will now be loud. Repeat as necessary for subsequent songs)
