You mean non-continuous selection I guess ("split selection" is a bit misleading). Yes, that's a major (usually basic) feature missing from Live.

To be precise, you actually can do non-continuous selections vertically in the Arrange, you can non-continuously select Clips in Session view, and you can select items in the browser non-continuously.
You can not do non-continuous selections in the horizontal domain in the Arrange, and you can not select Tracks non-continuously.

So in some areas it's there, in some not. Hope they address this in Live 8 or earlier, at least for selecting Clips in the Arrange view.
