noob-stylee question:sending midi to audio tracks?

Post by muthafunka » Mon Oct 15, 2007 2:19 pm

Getting into the Melohman functions in my new synths (Minimonsta is blowing my MIND!) but also Ohmicide (damn!) and wanting to send midi to control Ohmicide's Melohman when it's on an AUDIO track. I'm sure I've managed to route midi to audo tracks before for whatever reason but it eludes me right now, can anyone help? Sure it'll come back to me in the bath, but for now...help an old fella out??

I think you need to create a midi to receive midi from a controller into, then set its output to the audio track and the required device.
Nothing to see here - move along!

set up an effects track

route the audio to another audio track with the effects on it
set the effects track to no input and in
then put a blank audio clip into the track
edit the envelopes for the paramters of the effects you want to tweak.
bam clip automation

or search clip automation... you'll prolly find tutorials an other forum posts.

another little tip

if you turn link off then you can use one measure blank audio clip to automate as many measures as you want

edit

or you can just do it in the clip automation with the effect on the same track

have the Audio Effect wherever you want to put it, let's assume it's on Audio Track 1

make a new midi track, set it's output to "Audio Track 1",
the second midi output routing box should illuminate, choose "Ohmicide"

done
