reverb to delay

hi people, can anyone help me about this one
one of my send/return fx channels has simple delay on it with auto filter set to HP thats put before the delay unit. (function is obvious)
well now i would like to ocasionaly add some reverb to the delayed signal.
i just want to have one nice default setting and bring in reverb with dry/wet knob to the fx signal.
what i need help about is the settings i should use for the reverb.
i just need simple kind of large room/hall reverberation, no sound twisting or something like that. but i dont quite understand what diffuse and chorus are doing to the sound (same can be said for the spin part)
i figured out that input should be LP filtered in some manner as reverberation of very high frequencies doesnt sound quite nice...
hope someone can get me more into this.
thanks in advance.
