This may be a bit irrelevant here, but I'm asking nevertheless.
Anyways, I just bought a Numark TT1610 turntable and a Numark DM950 USB mixer but the problem is that I just can't figure out how to get the audio from the mixer to my MacBook.
What I did:
1. Hooked up the turntable to a mixer's PHONO 1 via red, white and the GND wire.
2. Plugged the USB wire from USB 1 Master Out to the laptop's USB hole.
3. Changed the laptop's default sound settings from system prefs. so that the INPUT would be set to the mixer's USB Audio.
4. Launched Ableton Live 6 and changed it's Audio Input Device to USB Audio Codec from Prefs.
5. Created an audio track and changed it's Monitor to In.
6. Started the turntable, but no sound.
There's a switch from Phono/Line to USB 1 on the mixer, I've played around with it, but nothing.
Also, I currently cannot check if the audio is playing in the mixer since I don't have my earphones/speakers with me to hook them up directly to the mixer. Tho the turntable's playing fine, since I tried it yesterday with my TV. :p
Can anyone please help me?
Listening vinyls through an USB mixer.
You should really create an aggregate sound device in the mac system preference audio settings.
Then you can use both USB drivers and therefore both channels.
I'm not sure if that would fix your problem thoguh.
I have got that mixer working with Ableton.
Have you tried butting the deck into the other channel?
