MIDI mapping for EQ three

hi all,

i'm new to Live so bear with me :)

am i right in thinking that if i map midi control of the EQ Three plugin in one track that i can't map separate controls for another instance of that plugin that's tied to another track.

ie. track one has one loop and i use my uc17 mapped to the frequency cutoff between the controls (to get a rough approx to my Electrix EQ killer)

so far so good.

i load up another loop into track two and get another eq 3 plugin connected. if i try and map the the same type of control to other knobs (this is a a separate instance of the plugin after all) it tells me that i've already mapped that particular control to another cotroller.

am i missing something?

if i'm not it means that eq3 is only usable on the main output, which seems a little silly.

thanks in advance for any replies!

you can map midi to as many instances of a plug in as you like. What Live is telling you is that the knob you're trying to assing to the second eq has already been assigned to something else. Live will only allow one knob to control one parameter in Live (though secondary apps like controlaid for mac and midi ox/yoke for pc allow multiple assignments).

thanks for the reply ryan

yeah i know that you can't map one controller (knob) onto two params.

i'm trying to map a separate knob onto a separate instance of EQ 3

it doesn't appear possible

u can use the eq three plug in every track, not only in the main.
i did the same one; track 1 eq three plug assigned to knob 1-3 on my
remote 25, track 2 eq three plug assigned to knob 4-6 on my
remote 25 - it works, and thats the only way. u cant route a knob or a
button to more than 1 instance of a plug.

i guess i need to try and do it again....

the mapping you describe above on the remote25 is what i want to do

i don't need to map mutli params onto one knob
