I thought I'd post this at an early stage in development, rather than later as I usually do...

Hiphop Voyage
Everything is still in progress, including the title ;)

This was made mostly with Battery, Massive, Sampler, and some guitar.
The middle part with the KRS-One sample is the most iffy to me...this was originally going to be the part of the track where I would have a real live MC, turntablist, or beatboxer in a live situation, but since there is almost no one doing that where I live, I ripped the only acapella I had of my fave MC. Still gotta work on the arrangement quite a bit...

The version posted above has been updated. Still gotta work on the mix for sure...EQing and panning.

Listening now. The intro has some great, great beats and synths. I'm not really into hiphop but this is very good with a great vibe.

2 mins in and a nice quiet bit, reminds me of Leftfield here for some reason. Yeah I can hear what you mean about taking it further, though its mostly there I'd say - just needs some lyrics, something really interesting.

3.30 the acapella has come in. Nice processing, perhaps you need an original recording to compliment the mix though. Perhaps you could try some rock bands or summit and try and get their vocalist to do something if you know any? Just an idea.

Yeah I like this.

Newer (final?) version posted. I think I might do some micro-sequencing of crackles after the acapella, and call it done...
