Does anybody know why neither 6.0.10 nor 7 b9 would work in Leopard?
MBP C2D 2.15 Ghz Lucky me I don't have to produce anything right now but I would like to continue testing 7...... I know I am stupid updating the day Leopard comes out but last time (10.3 to 10.4) I had no problem... Any suggestions?

Just made a fresh install and Live 6.0.10 works great! :D

I made a backup of my user folder to an external disk and then made a fresh install. Then I can copy stuff from backup into my new user folder as I need it. It's a nice way to clean up your system.

I really Love Leopard, this is what Microsoft wish that Vista was. :D

Does that mean you have to reinstall every piece of software you own? That terrifies me. Just my plugins alone could take me until Q2 of 2008 to install when you throw in authorization and hunting down serial numbers.

yah.
thats why you should keep records.
I have all my serials and installers on a backup drive.

is live the only thing crashing?

how about your other bits and bobs.

if it's just live, try removing it, and it's corresponding files in
/Library/Application Support

you will have to re-authorize it, but it would be a "fresh" install of live.

make sure you backup any projects first, just in case.

It seemed convenient that one could just upgrade and keep all ones apps but is it really necessary to do a clean install? My MBP is only 1 and a half month old. Haven't bought Leopard yet.

10.5 warning

I've got 10.5 running now.
I first installed it on my 2nd internal and that was fine.
So i thought great, i'll do it on my main drive.
It installed, then when it rebooted it would get to the blue screen then just stay blue forever .
Don't know why.
I did both installs the same, using the upgrade route from the dvd.
Anyway, i booted back into other drive, BACKED UP stuff onto external then i tried install again, but this time chose to do archive and install.
This put the new broken system into a folder and installed a new system in it's place.
It worked.
All is well.
Doesn't seem any faster on the g5.
Only 2 things i've found so far that don't work are Spam Sieve and Logitech Control Centre.

:( No way it just doesn't want to start, it shows the beginning screen and then crash.
I threw all prefs, and Live-files away but kept the folder with the App. any more ideas?

This could be some plugin, as opposed to live itself -- check ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash.log to see where the crash came from. You'll probably have to scroll to the end as this records all crashes you've had in Live.

just adding .02c here

it's always a good thing to clone your drive before installing an upgrade (or update for that mater)
