@BassTooth : do you mean so you can use clip envelopes to control devices in a return (and send levels to other returns)?

This would be good. Every time I create a return track I have to create another dummy audio track to contain dummy clips to control the effects in the return track - while the slots in the return track just sit there uselessly...

Cut out the middle man. Why use the return track at all?
Unless you specifically need the send knobs, you could just use another Audio track as a return track and trigger Dummy clips from it.

i like the send knobs. its like a familiar comfy chair.

I think I have to do it with Sends. I use my Return track for effects but I vary which source tracks get sent to it (using the Sends).
