I have a particular sample that I need to try and loop but I can't seem to get it working properly.

The sample is of a choir. It is an 8 bar passage. The words have 2 pick up notes on beat 3 & 4 before coming in on beat one. The loop ends on bar seven beat 2. So I need to figure out how to loop the sample starting on bar 0 beat 3 (the first pick up note) and have it loop at the end of bar 7 beat 2. I've tried unsucessfully to play with the offset function in the sample display and I've even tried moving warp markers around, but it doesn't seem to want to start or sync properly with the other loops.

Many thanks,

Nathan

Hey Hey from a fellow Canuck!

I am just guessing here - I don't have LIVE on this computer so I can't verify; Also, if I am mis-reading your problem, I'm sorry.

The problem SEEMS to be that your requirement for a lead-in of two beats before the main downbeat is throwing off the loop. You MIGHT have to use two (or three) clips to accomplish the lead in and then looping.

First, your two beat lead in. Loop just the first half bar. Then, de-link the clip envelope from the sample, and set the volume to silence for the first two beats. The next two will be your lead in.

Then, next clip is the "guts" of the loop, the whole thing looped, ignoring your requirement for a lead in. Just set your start point on bar 0 beat 3, and away ya go.

Or, try some Wavelab / Bias Peak / Soundforge editing. That's the last resort I suppose...
