I Hate Ableton 2.0, but I'd Love To Love It

Hi!
I have Ableton 2.0 but I've never used it because of a number of gripes:

Authorization was STUPID and HORRIBLE. It asked if I wanted to register via the internet. When I clicked yes, my prompt disappeared and I was screwed. It took 2 weeks to get the thing running through support.

When I did get it working, I never got any sound out of it. I said "Fukk It" and went back to Reason which ALWAYS works.

Is 3.0 any easier to register to use? Should I just throw this software away? It still doesn't work and I get pissed off 3 minutes into opening it.

Thanks,
Rob

yo, IGNORE this guy. he's posting this meathead rant in every section of the board.

dood, put on your thinking cap and learn to make it work or throw it out, or don't, who gives a shit. put icing on the box and eat it for all i care. this is NOT a Bug or Problem with Live. so it does NOT belong in this section.

stop trolling and trying to stir up shit with this gay thread.

Such A Friendly Response

I can tell that you've probably helped 100s of frustrated Ableton users. Thanks for the warm welcome.

he may have overstepped a bit, but posting the same thing in multiple forums is a bit of a faux pax, as is posting about a totally personal individual problem. I've been on these forums for well over a year and haven't yet heard any registration problem stories. Maybe you tried to search for them and found none, I wouldn't be surprised. But I think you should work with Ableton support directly (you did buy their product, right??) and figure out what is happening. Registration seems to work fine for 99.9% of us. Give it a fair shake. It is one of the most intuitive and easy to use audio apps around, with lots of tricks up its sleeves.

Dear baskervils,

If you have problems with the authorization, you can always send a mail to [email protected]
I´ll do my best to help you then. In general the authorization mechanism works fine. If your Live computer is not online you can read instructions how to unlock it offline here:

Best,
