Welcome aboard...

A quick google search reveals a SID player for Mac OSX with AIFF export function

If yon want a PC version try google for a PC player/converter or take a look under software/emulators on

Don't SID-files contain MIDI-like data? Shouldn't Live be able to interpret them as MIDI?

not really, SID files contain a computer program that is meant to run on a C64. There is no note data there, only instructions for the 6502 cpu that will drive a SID chip.

hey nice find!

This may be slightly off topic, but here's link to a ton of C64 oneshot samples in .wav format just itching to be dropped into your drum rack.
