How the Fuck are you a Pro-Tools teacher?

You mean what did I studied to be a ProTools teacher?
I work in a Digidesign Authorized Trainning Center, in a Audio REcording School.

sebamars,
I was merely curious how an individual that asks how to get started in writing music on computers can call himself a Pro-Tools instructor.
No worries! we're all in this together.
You picked a good place to ask questions. There many levels of "producers" here. So ask away and good luck.

I know it sounds strange, but you can master a piece of Soft ware, and know how to record and yet not know how to compose music.
That's my concern. "To produce" meaning "composing music".

wow, honest answer sebamers
I think most Live users would agree that session view (the view with the boxes aka clips) offers a great way to screw around and come up with many many many happy accidents.
drop some loops you like, or songs, or whatever you like into clips in different tracks. put some FX on the sends and just start playing with the clips and FX. KEEP THE RECORD BUTTON ON and you'll bounce to session view.
rtfm 'capture scene', ctrl-shit-i I think, and whatever clips you have playing will be copied into a new scene, so when you find a nice combination of clips you can put them into a scene.
as you make up scenes, put them in some sort of order, then you can start to hash out begining/middle/end of a tune.
FOLLOW MODE is also very useful for putting ideas together.
once you get things hashed out, record it over to session view. from there add the details, draw in automation, add mastering effects, all that.
lastly render to .wav, send to record company, sell out, profit, retire.

Way back in ancient times...I started with demo examples. Look at the demo sets included with Live and play with those.
See what happens when you change things.
Take a simple song that you enjoy and listen to it carefully, trying to figure out what the bass is doing, the percussion, any guitars, etc. Try to separate out any production frosting (like reverb, chorus or delay effects) and the basic song itself.
Everyone started somewhere. And usually you start with trying to mimic/emulate/or even copy your favorite music. Gradually over a long time you develop your own style (or at least most people do, it's questionable in my case...)
