Automation problem in Arrangement

Hi all new guy here,
Strange problem here. I searched the forum for similar issues but found none. When I try to automate a track that has a preset instrument rack in it, as soon as I make a second point in the automation curve, the line greys out and the Arrangement LED switches on, thus ignoring my automation. I tested in other tracks with other plugins and it works fine.
If I try to switch back to arrangement mode, I have to click the LED twice before it goes off, but then it immediately switches back on and ignores my automation. I just switched from Live 4 to 6, so I could be missing some obvious change. Thanks in advance.
