I have been searching the tubes all morning for some clues as to this...surprisingly I haven't found any info.

Does anyone know if the rock band videogame instruments are recognized as usb-midi devices?

Also, are the drums velocity sensitive?

for $160 bucks it seems like the guitar and drums would make pretty fun controllers.

cheers

from what i hear the drums will just recognize on and off and not velocity.

watch this clip:

no matter what controller you use it won't recognize velocity because eah drum pa will represent asdfghjk on the keyboard in impulse/sampler/etc. those keyboard functions have no velocity.

now if you do have 199 to burn..........http://www.novamusik.com/search.aspx?ty ... 952&mid=43

You mean like Guitar Hero II?

You can use them as MIDI controllers, but not by simply plugging them into your computer... you need an adaptor and another app to convert their signals to MIDI.

[edit] oh, "rock band" is an actual game, not a type of game. Learn something new every day :)

You should probably check out the Guitar Zeros. I've never heard their music or anything, but apparently they use Guitar Hero controllers. I think they were mentioned on Make Digital Music or something...
