Multiple Sound Cards

Can use multiple sound cards for those who haven't a multioutput sound card, to can pre-listen.
You don't happen to remember the title of this thread, do you? I've been trying to do this since I can only afford a one-output device at the moment (most likely the M-Audio Transit). When I went and asked the resident tech wizard at the local music shop, he didn't think Live could do it. We tested it out on a demo WinXP machine they had in the store (which had a number of audio interfaces connected to it) and came to the conclusion that this cannot be done - in the "Device Type" menu in the Live prefs' "Audio" tab, only one device driver can be selected at a time.robbmasters wrote:Live *can* do this.
I've seen a thread on this forum on how to do it on a Mac.
You can also do it on a PC (on XP at least - I haven't tried on any other PC OSes) but only if you use DirectX drivers (well, not the standard ASIO drivers anyway) so latency may suffer.
Virtual Audio Cable may solve the problem too - with less impact on latency.
This sounds like the exact solution I've been looking for. Thanks alot.robbmasters wrote:It was Neat Tip:How to use TWO audio interfaces with Live (MacOS X)
If you need more info about how to do it on a PC, take a look at this FAQ wot I wrote.
