New laptop and ableton fresh out da box, issues??!?!!!

i have a toshiba satellite A215... AMD Turion 64X2 1.90 GHZ 1.9 RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium 32... And ableton 6 w/ upgrade to 6.0.10
Also using Presonus Firepod
I seem to have issue while im creating tracks. As i am doin my thing ableton just freezes about 15 to 20 min into it... but yet it lets me save the set before i am forced to close it... and have to force its closing. Also the green lights stay on on the individual track tabs but the overall play button on the top only turns off when i click it ....but not when i click the stop button ...odd odd odd..
O and all audio stops..
This is Extremely aggitating since its a new laptop and brand new software that i bought with a credit card, no job and a big smile!!! whats the deal ???
Any info or advice would be greatly apprieciated...
