That's a really odd way of phrasing it. It makes it sound like there will be an even better version of their software available if you own both separately as opposed to one or the other. Do they let their engineers write their newsletters?

No I think they are just saying that for those who want to use the VST version in a different host programme, there will be a crossgrade way to do that. Which is fair enough to us as customers, though slightly poor politics in terms of their relationship with Ableton

I think they're saying that people who already own AAS stuff can crossgrade it to Ableton as well.

Not really, read it again, it sounds like the crossgrade will go in both directions. I guess it depends on Ableton though.

Besides, how is it poor politics if in order to get the crossgrade you have to already own an AAS embedded Live synth??? They are I'm sure making money off of the AAS embedded instruments, and it might have even been part of the agreement with Ableoton that they can offer a crossgrade.

The embedded instruments are nice, but at only 128 parameters, Analogue is for instance a stripped down version of Ultra Analogue.
Now if presets were compatible between the AAS and embedded versions, this would be a sweet thing for those of us who work in more than Live. 8)

you know, both tension and electric are excellent, and it's great their integrated solely into live.

;-) I wouldn't want a pesky vst interface anyhow.

and Ableton KNOW IT.

Hello everyone,

The crossgrade offer is now available. We will give a 50% discount on individual Ableton instrument purchases to AAS customers who own the respective AAS original instrument.

To receive the discount, you will need to submit a scanned copy of your AAS receipt/order confirmation of the AAS instrument(s) to [email protected]:

* Analog requires proof of AAS Ultra Analog
* Electric requires proof of AAS Lounge Lizard
* Tension requires proof of AAS String Studio

Hope that helps.

Perhaps you should offer them some chocolate to get the opposite effect...
