Yet another question...(please answer them and I'll leave you all in peace!)

I find sometimes when I've recorded on one track a certain drum sound, playing it using my PC keyboard, and then I go onto another track and select another set of drum sounds from the list in Impulse, I find the previously recorded drum sound has changed to match what the corresponding PC key is on this new drum set. It rarely happens but particularly seems to occur when using the vibro type drum instrument.

It's really annoying as I want to keep that instrument in there, and I can except if I go to a certain set of drum sounds. Then it switches weirdly to another one on the same PC key.

Anyone else encountered this? It means right now that I can't select a drum sound from the next set or whichever set makes this happen. Grr.

I'm new to all this and my explanations may be a bit garbled for now.

Ok...basically, here is what is happening...

1. In midi track 1 for instance I put down (record) a certain sound (say a vibra type sound) that I acquire from one set in Impulse (say, the first Glitch set for example. There are 2 Glitch-type sets with slightly different names) I press for example J on my keyboard to produce this vibra sound.

2. In midi track 2 I put down a different sound (say a snare) that I acquire from another set in Impulse (the 2nd Glitch set) I press say, F on my keyboard to produce this snare sound.

3. My issue is that when I then play back the 2 tracks, the sound I put down in track 1 has altered itself. It is no longer the vibra sound I recorded, but has now turned into a different sound altogether.

4. It has become whatever sound corresponded to the J key in the second set (2nd Glitch set) I used on track 2.

5. If I go back to using the first Glitch set in Impulse, it will return to being the vibra sound again.

Sorry again if this still makes no sense. It's really hard to describe.

It has altered itself so that whatever drum sound

Could it be that you:
- don't have Impulses in both tracks but rather
- have one Impulse in one track
- and rout the track without the Impulse
- to the one with the Impulse?

If you don't know how to examine this, please post a screenshot or the liveset as a file and I'm sure we'll see the problem right away.

And I don't get tired to say: as a beginner you definitively should go through the lessons, tutorials, videos and so on. Because if you have to wait for answers for every little problem you're going to master the program not even in 100 years!

I think it's more likely that a beginner (I've done this a lot myself) has changed to the new drum set before switching to MIDI track #2.

I know I have done that. Meaning, select a drumset for track #1, record a clip, choose a new drumset (thinking it was for track #2 when in fact I still had track #1 selected), select track #2 and get the 2nd drumset in there too somehow (which only made the problem harder to discover).

So, first step = slow down and try again. Just in case. If that doesn't work, let us know.

1. select track #1
2. choose sound for track 1
3. select track 2
4. choose sound for track 2
5. test both by arming first 1, then 2, and playing something from each
6. now record

You're good, Troy, you're really good.

That may well have been what I did. lol
