Music "jumping" / "skipping" in Live 7 PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I just got the new live 7.0 and when I play a loop or play anything at that matter (even exisiting songs already laid out in arrangement) the sound skips... or jumps rather...
Like when I am sitting there in LIve.. playing nothing... the CPU will spike... to max... like every 2 seconds or so... and that is when this skip / jump sound occurs!!
I am using M-audio audiophile and also m-audio fast track pro.... I have tried both... both do the same thing.. I have done the Buffer fix and all that.. so it isn't my hardware...
I am also using the Novation Remote Zero SL controller!!!
Can someone please tell me what is going on.. it is so bad.. I can't even use the software at the moment...

I am using Dell Inspiron 530
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
1.98 GHZ 3.25 GB of Ram
my system is maxed out (less than a few months old)8.. so I know that isn't the issue.
Please would love some feedback!!
