I am recording my midi keyboard, but Live does not record the pitchbend messages.
How can I do this?

I'm pretty sure I did this just the other day.
You hear the synth bend pitch when you're playing it, but then it doesn't bend on playback?
If that's the case, then I wonder if your VST is 'stealing' the PB messages before Live sees them?
Maybe try turning some MIDI functionality off in your VST?

Use the pitch bend envelope as automation.

Don't know, more details

That's an odd one. Live records whatever you send it.

Just to clarify - yes Live does record pitch bend and then it will transmit that data when you play back that clip.

What are you recording from and what are you sending to. My first guess would be the midi messages are being sent but ignored by the synth you are snding to. My second guess would be they are not being sent from what you are playing when you record.

Does the midi indicator in the right hand corner light when you move the pitch bend controller?

Live doesn't record automation directly into session clips.

You can only record automation into the arrangement.

You can manually edit the pitch bend on a clip in Live. Double click the clip to bring up the clip editor. Then select the black "E" to show the envelope. From there you will see the automation curve for pitch bend for that particular clip which you can edit as you like.
