Hack: go into MIDI mapping before you let go of the note!
I wanna see some kind of "MIDI filter" effect in Live 8.

Thanks for the replies.
Going into midi mapping in 7 only holds the note for about a second. Is there no way of holding the note using the computer keyboard?
Cheers.

Ah , I see, you did not have a midi keyboard and want to play your instruments via the computer keyboard.
Fortunately I have a solution for you
There is a plug-in located at lives own Midi Effects which is called "Note Length".
Drop this effect at your midi track and tweak the parameters at following values:
Trigger=Note On ; Mode=Time ; Lenght=60.0 s ; Gate=200 %
So the note will be hold for 2 minutes (I think that would be long enough for you

)
To stop the note switch the "Note Length" Effect off (little green knob right at the top of the effect).
If you want to switch it off with a key of your computer keyboard you can learn a key of your choice. (klick on the "KEY" button - located directly right at the button for activating the computer keyboard to enabling it playing notes (the top right of lives main window) - klick with the mouse at the off button of the effect (as mentioned above) and press the key of your choice)
Keep in mind that you only can use (for remoting the effect) those keys that you are not use for playing notes.

cheers p.e.
