Live 7 to Live 7 Suite Upgrade Price

I'm definately upgrading from 6. My options are:
6 Download- 99 euros
6 Suite Download- 299 euros
6 Suite Box- 399 euros
Going to need to upgrade soon as beta ran out yesterday, but with christmas coming up, not sure how much I can justify paying. I'd eventually like the suite, either boxed or download, but I can only get a price on upgrading straight from 6 to the suite.
Does anyone know the upgrade prices from Live 7 download to Live Suite download / box, or the Live suite download to Live suite box?
Anyone with the Live 7 standalone feel like checking their upgrade options?
Thanks, Dudes.

I'm on 7.01. looks as if I don't have the option to upgrade.
"There are currently no upgrades available for your products. The products registered under your account are all up to date."

Oh shit! Really?
So if you own version 7, you can only get the suite by buying all the individual instruments separately. Or pay the 649 euros, get ableton again and sell the original license?
That can't be right surely? So at this point in time it's cheaper for me with Live 6 to get the suite than you with Live 7?
And to think people were complaining about their 20 dollar discount for operator. This is much more unfair.
Can anyone else copnfirm this?

Unfair? Yes, maybe.
I'd also love to do what you're thinking of - put down the 99 Euro now and add the rest of the suite for another 180 after christmas. But I'm guessing Ableton is just like every other company having to make money. No shadow upon them.
On the other hand - I think the upgrade price to the Suite is quite reasonable. Too bad I don't have the money now...

Well, unfair maybe is a bit strong. But with so many people complaining about other aspects of the upgrade path, I'm just supprised no one is moaning about this. I've already explained on other posts why I think the other discounts are more than reasonable.
I guess this is just a one off bargin discount price. And with a couple of tracks I quite like already started on the beta, they've got me by the balls now. My own fault of course.
I guess this is what credt cards are for. And my folks may not be getting anything spectacular for christmas either.
Oh well, narrows down my choices between box and download suite. Hmmmm. Anyone had a chance to play with session drums yet?

Well, in some fairness they do have to give incentive to buy the suite and most companies don't give 100 different upgrade options to buy each piece you want as you can afford it that matches a suite type price. To the best of my knowledge no other company even gives you the option to buy proprietary instruments separately. It's all or nothing.

That beta phase - it's a win/win for them - isn't it? People busting their balls to iron out bugs. And then after playing with it for two months - you're hooked.
Bastards, I say!

I'm hoping to manage to stay away from my credit card.

Yeah I was wondering about this myself, but ended up just upgrading from 6 to Suite last night. The only instrument I particularly wanted was Tension, but the cost of the upgrade + Tension on its own was barely less than going Suite, so it seemed obvious to me.

Knew I was signing my own death warrent with the beta. But it gave me a proper chance to check out the new instruments at least. Much nicer if you can go back to what you've done after a couple of days.
Tension is great. But I'm slightly concerned that in few months, every techno track being released will have the same messed up, glitchy sounds you can get out of it.

I doubt that's anything you have to worry about. Unless your aim is to do something ultra-generic, the world is your oyster as far as uniqueness goes. It's not the sound itself so much as what you do with it, of course.
I kinda had the same fear when I first got my Virus TI, thinking that every prog and trance track would sound like every other sound I came up with; couldn't have been further from the truth. People tend to stick to the generic assed JP style saw plucks and never go for any meaty type sounds that you can get with some mucking about. I imagine the same will be true for Tension, which can really create some other-worldly type shit when you abuse the patches =P

well i asked this same question to support and never heard back from customer care other than a auto response so i have just bit the bullet and bought the whole thing which is d/l as we speak.....
really going to feel like a dick on christmas day when everyone has dollar store garbage under the tree from me, but maybe i can burn them a cd-r of some works in progress and explain that their shit gifts have allowed me to side chain some wicked multizone aiff's with 128 cc's, to console them
it wasnt selfishness, but a desire to create beautiful music for all the world to enjoy that made me spend my money on me
isn't that what christmas is all about?

I recently bought Live 6 because of the free upgrade to 7. I intended to get the boxed suite but now that I have 7, it won't show in my upgrade options and customer care haven't responded in weeks!
IMHO - Ableton is losing money and a LOT of customer loyalty. I really like their stuff.
But I'm getting a LOT of cheap upgrade-before-christmas offers from Propellorhead and Steinberg - plus they respond very quickly to email queries.
So - software giants - who wants my cash?
