Im trying to record a midi loop.. the problem Im experiencing is that I want it to keep recording the same 1 bar loop over and over, until I get it right. Instead it just records in a linear fashion for as long as I play.
How can I record in a 1 or 2 bar loop fashion?

Activate Overdub (OVR) on the top of the screen

That has been on all along. So that doesnt seem to be the problem. Anyone other ideas?

Not sure if this is right, but here goes:
Double click the clip you want to work with. Adjust the Loop Start and Loop End points to what you want. Hit record on that clip and it should do what you want. Maybe.

what specifically doesn't work with OVR?
Did you make a 1 bar loop?

When I record, The middle note editor in the 'clip view' section (down the bottom) doesnt loop on a bar, it just records linearly (such as a normal sequencer would do).
I want to be able to record in the same fashion as shown in the ASK Video Ableton tutorial. ie press record, the bar keeps looping while I attempt to play the loop i'm after.. then press stop and voila! there's my 1 bar loop!

Yes, create a clip BEFORE recording, by double clicking on the cell.
