so i did my annual buzz and click gig in nashville at the end and it was SWELL. folks seemed to dig it and i managed to not F*** it up too bad. i got mentioned by name out of the 10 acts in the local rage paper: ("manchesters anemone layers sweet baroque melodies over lurching beats" - sounds pretty good to me, eh?) met some fine internet folks in person, drank some whiskey, and generally had a good ole time.

this was by far the best live pa gig ive had. people were dancing, some were just staring, some were obviously trying to figure out what i was doing, and the room was quite full. i hope to have some photos soon, but have none yet.*

kit:
korg ms-2000 synth
midiman oxy 8 controller
alesis mixer
yamaha sk-20 organ synth w volume and distortion pedals
bheringer 1010 foot controller
crappy radio
about a million cords

(srsly. most everybody else had like a controller, a laptop, and a soundcard. i had this huge rig with a giant pile of cables and footpedals. some of them looked at me like i had two heads or something. ive got my load in all labeled and organized but my load out is a MESS!)

and of course
live 6 with a ton o plugs on a dell laptop:
3 tracks of "pre-arranged" audio, mostly drum loops, 2 tracks of "live looping" recording, and a midi track with the EVP73 Vsti.

set had to be under 30 mins so transitions / tunes are quick and tight. looking forward to a longer set where i can "stretch out" much more. includes several new tunes and severe reworkings of older tunes.**

here is my set, straight off the minidisc:
[23:30 256kbps 43MB]
anemone live pa @ buzz n click 5

TRACKLISTING:
intro
wartrail v07
even tho
tapewood v2
duress
electric blue

*in fact that photo from above is from the previous year, but its in the same club, i think im wearing pretty much the same shirt / outfit and have the same setup, so we can just use our imaginations cant we?
** one interesting note is that i forget to hit rec on the minidisc and didnt realize this till a few minutes in. so just the first bit of intro of this set is actually a practice recording spliced onto the real one. the rest is strictly live!
