Disk performance issues in Ableton Live 7

Hi,

I've been having disk performance issues in Live 7. I am using a SATA 10000rpm WD Raptor hard drive for audio and I have been able to run massive track counts in Cubase as well as in Ableton 6 (even though Cubase was still a bit better in performance.) Anyway, my current set is running 41 tracks at 44.1kHz either 24bit or 32bit (frozen tracks). I don't have lots of short clips or anything, mostly frozen tracks and they never play all at once. The "D" is lighting up and tracks either stutter and/or don't play back. Again, this didn't happen in Live 6 nor in Cubase; I have sessions that run 70+ tracks. I am not sure what is going on, but it is very annoying. I checked the manual and applied Abe's "tips", but it didn't help.
For example running 41 stereo tracks at 44.1kHz and 32bits for each track (which it isn't) should only use approx. 14.5MB/s in throughput. My HD is way faster than that (measured), plus I am running maybe 20 tracks at once (like I said one long clip per track since most of them are frozen tracks) so I am at a complete loss as to why I am having problems in Live 7.

Any help from Ableton or anyone else would be greatly appreciated.

Ken
