Hi,

Im running live 6 on a Pc and im having problems trying to use VSTs..Ive setup a folder C:/ program files/Steinberg/vstplugins

Ive been adding the .dll files to this folder but when I search for them in the live browser they are invisible..

I have tried changing the preferences but it hasnt helped but to be honest im not entirely sure im doing it correctly..

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful..

cheers

Jay

Did you hit "rescan" (or something like that) after chainging the path?

Put the vst .dlls into C:Program Files/VSTPlugins

go into Cubase and use the plugins feature there to rescan, setting it up to scan from that directory first. Cubase will read the vsts in the default VST folder as mentioned above no problem, so long as you specify. You usually need to close and reopen Cubase after transferring vsts from one folder to another for them to be seen.

Most programs *steinberg excepted* look in the Program Files/VSTPLugins folder for vsts by default/

Not so. They'll look in the folder named in the path by the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VST

While the Windows default's what you're talking about, it can be changed there. For example, my default path's E:/Steinberg/VSTplugins...
