The reasons why i bought a PCR M1
seems like i found an alternative:

he m-audio keyrig 25 looks pretty much like the discontinued O2 from m-audio.
the O2 is supported by LIve.

Hello,

Thanks for posting all this info - I am slowly starting to get a grasp on custom control surface mapping in Live.

I've set up the templates using Live 8 on Mac OSX 10.6 and so far 'some' controls work - eg. the master/volume sliders, but I'm having troubles figuring out what many of the pads and rotaries are meant to do within each of the 5 control maps.

Does anyone know how I can review the specific parameter setting for each cc assignment?
eg. The settings for panning, stop clip, speaker on etc...
If I edit the midi map in Live, no assignments are shown on the Live interface, nor do any of the settings show up in the midi browser map.

Does a midi implementation chart for Live exist anywhere so I can review what cc assignments do what?
I'm a little lost as to how I can figure out the settings - blindly pressing pads is not helping me...

I'm beginning to wonder if many of the mappings in the templates simply don't work in Live 8 and this is why I am having troubles getting a reaction from many of the controls :(

Thanks for any help in advance...
Natacha

Hi, I know this thread is really old, but I thought I'd post as I got the A buttons to work with the track arm function - The MIDI mappings for the PCR need to be set to 'latch' mode on each of these buttons.

Thanks very much Oxo, this saved me a lot of time.

I'm still following this :D

Megageoff - What do you mean by "track arm function" exactly?

Hi, sorry I haven't logged in for ages.

You can assign the A buttons to 'arm' the relevant track for recording eg. A1-track 1, A2 track 2 etc. This is handy for recording multiple Midi parts on different tracks 'on the fly'(ie making quick arrangements from a single keyboard). Note that it also switches the display focus, so that you can check what instruments/FX are on each track/audition sounds too.

After some trial and error i managed to get my pcr-300 working with live automap.

- the pads are automagically assigned to a selected drum rack

- the 8 knobs control the 8 macros in any type of rack that is selected
the pads aren't great and they work better for sample launching instead of beat making

- the 9 faders control the volume for the first 8 tracks and the master volume

the crossfader isn't working and i haven't checked the pitch/modulation wheel but i will give it a try next time i have some free time.

anyway, i put the files used for this setup available for download:

comments and sugestions are welcome!

I know this post is dated but does anyone have the automap files for the PCR series that peartree uploaded above? All links are dead and he hasn't logged in in years.

I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd still ask.

Thanks

Huge thanks for this! I checked your profile and it said you last logged in in 2012 so I far from expected you to reply.

Thanks again, I'm going to give it a try and see how I get on!
