Midi controller with most knobs

Which midi controller has the most knobs (looking two use 32 or more on one box) and where can I get one or should I research building my own? I am quite disappointed when looking at what is commercially available. Doepfer had a nice one, which for some reason they discontinued. Suggestions?

I would say M-Audio products as a whole. Most idiots use M-Audio.

Soft takeover, the LED rings showing the parameter position (MIDI feedback), moving the Live parameter with a mouse changing the LED ring and vice versa, storing and snapshot-recalling multiple presets and having the LED rings immediately show the parameter position make endless rotary encoders SO much more useful than knobs.

IMO, you can't go wrong with a BCR2000 or two. Fantastic value for money, lots of buttons as well as knobs, and a built-in MIDI interface make it a no-brainer!

A while back I actually saw someone who had detached the side panels and joined two BCRs (or BCFs?) by some sort of bracket. You could chain them via midi and only use one port on your comp/midi interface.

+1!!! I'd love to get one... It's really a shame this is sold out. The same piece of hardware with endless knob (I mean the same build quality and the same simplicity not a berhinger) would be absolutely perfect. why the hell not a manufacturer is able to produce such a device?

This looks really cool : http://www.kentonuk.com/kenton/killamix/killamix.html
or there is still the uc33...

the build quality of the BCR2000 by behringer is actually quite brilliant. Get two of those and be done with.

I second the BCR2000 build quality. Don't be put off by the Behringer name... it's really very good, and it's cheap enough to have a spare. (If you're using one live, make sure any custom settings are uploaded to your spare!)

Really? actually, as drehbank seems to be quite hard to find, I was considering buying two BCR (or maybe one or two UC33e) to have enough knobs to play with Covert Seq 3 :D without having to swich between banks/or midi channels (I hate that and would love to approximate the "one knobs/one function" of an old analog sequencer) :D

Yes, I think the BCR is a great piece of kit for the money. I've given mine away, but it served me well and is still working great.
