My new Live 7 suffers occasionally from a strange sounding glitch that I've never experienced with Live 6. I would describe the glitch as sounding like a scratched record playing on a record player. It's as if my songs have scratches in them. The CPU meter isn't overloading. It's not a mere gap in the sound like a usual glitch sounds like.

Live 7 seems more sensitive to improperly setup MIDI devices. I had too many of the inputs/outputs and such going to Live 7 for my PadKontrol and Axiom 49. I redid the tutorial on setting up midi devices and used 'minimum' conection approach and got rid of my Live 7 glitches. (Glitches occured during mouse actions, midi actions and keyboard actions). Live 6 had the same setup and did not have any issues.

Yeah, I was (am now too) playing with the demo and I read this and low and behold, all I had to do was turn off MIDI to my ReMote 25SL. Now why it was on... no idea. I never use it's midi outputs these days. Probably an artifact from THE DISTANT PAST.

So while it does work now for me with this work around, we should not have this issue at all. The Novation is a fine controller... and the track didn't even have a single midi note being sent to anything (though the orange indicator said otherwise)

So it's a bug for sure, but if you just turn off midi output (if you're not using it) you may be able to work with Live 7 again...

Oh, this does NOT fix the crackling I hear when I use the mouse to move a fader/knob in Live, however if I use the Novation it's fine.

no exactly. thats where I'm at. don't even think about trying to record automation, or your entire track will sound like a badly tuned radio.

So does 7.02 address this? I started reading the bug fix list but by bug 7,362 I glazed over and got distracted by a bird.

this issue is still oustanding. i'm working with ableton at moment to try address it.

it is more associated with DIRECTMUSIC type of MIDI ports (new options introduced in 7)

i'll be sending info over to abes today, so maybe, MAYBE they can get a fix into the new release, so likely it will be two more releases....
