Related Midi freeze/edit function/cpu problems,Who else has

My PC Pentium 4
3.4 GHz
2 x 80 GB HD 1 for the system and installations 2nd for projects, samples and abletons library.
Midi freeze/edit function problems and a couple of other strange happenings closely related. And these still persist in various similar manors, even now the next day after I have totally cleaned my pc as described below,
So I am pretty much sure it is there for a live problem ! ?.
with 25 midi tracks and CPU ranged from 15% to 57 on average and the odd peak occurring I decided it was time to freeze, I froze about 10 tracks at first, and then my pc started to stutter more than it already was, the CPU should have become more manageable because of Freeze function but it got a lot worse reading a whopping 3432 and also 2474% as it crashed the first two times. So I went on to freeze 20 midi tracks, but during this I had many more crashes where by I had to cut my pc off by holding the Power down button.
Also
In this process I had to power off my soundcard and some times this allowed me to turn ableton off, other times it did not and as I say I had to power my pc of in an abrupt manner.
In version 6 I could turn off my sound card in such situations and then turn it back on in the audio device menu via ableton, but now it does not, it crashes my system.
Also I have one frozen track, that I flattened and now try to consolidate, but it just consolidates the clip as blank audio / a few visual wave glitches, and it is not down to any volume gain settings etc,
Later on as I say after cleaning my pc after these problems it still crashes, but at an even lower rate like 11-20% CPU
The track I am working on has been up dated from versions 5-6 and now 7 and was fine until version 7
I also changed sample rate’s etc, not that I should have needed too but it makes no difference anyhow.
My pc handles large sonar projects and cubase vst 5 projects no problem.
I also noticed that these problems I mention above also start once I have tried moving frozen clips along its own track timeline, And bang my system crashes after stuttering from the point in the time line I dropped the frozen clip, so as I suggest it would seem a midi freeze/ editing problem with live.
Ableton have been contacted and I await their reply,
I would also however appreciate if anybody else could let me know about this if working in a similar manor and with similar amounts of tracks and data, and getting this problem.
Here are a few tips i have posted on Music Tech Mag forums also that may help in eliminating other probable causes if you use windows xp, and in return help ableton in their quest to solve such problems.
