Any new groove workarounds with Live7's new features ?

I'm not gonna mention again how incredibly lame live is when it comes to groove quantizing (oops looks like i did

) ; but since we can now import rex files and slice loops, all the groovy timing info you need is there at disposal in midi clips, it just isn't usable as is...
I haven't been able to come up with anything quite usable (yet, hopefully), but maybe someone else did.
If so i'd really like to hear about it...
cheers

allow me to necro-thread a bit here and post this link reg. "master clip warping" or whatever the hoot it was called - it clearly shows groove quantizing at work, and includes audio samples (in and out of the pocket)
I agree though, it is a backwards way of doing it, but you can still record an unquantized groovy midi track->resample->warp. Works extremely well.

hey i knew about that feature, but since the tempo got locked to the audio file's tempo i never used it.
But now i'm thinking of something :
Use a rack to remap all incoming notes to the same note, and use that to trigger a click ; now you can grab the midi groove file, make it play the click, resample it, warp it accurately (that's where the click comes in useful), and use that audio clip as the master.
That way you're not stuck to the original tempo and it's accurate, plus you can save the click rack + midi groove as a live clip, and reuse that.
(maybe that's what you meant though

)
Still miles away from the regroove mixer, but that looks pretty usable....
