In Session view, I'll set the signature denominator to 7/8 (or 7/4 sometimes). Then I'll pick a drum instrument in Impulse to use for creating drum clips. I start to record a clip with the metronome on (I use an Akai percussion pad controller). At first, it sounds correct with the downbeat metronome click in the right place (on "1"). But as I record or play back the clip, the metronome downbeat click sound moves to another beat. It stays at the same tempo but the downbeat changes as if it doesn't want to stay in 7/8 or 7/4. Can you figure out why it's doing this? A lot of what I'm working on is in odd meters.

Sounds like your clip is looping improperly. Maybe you have the loop set at 4 measures even, or somesuch?
