Hello,

I recently upgraded to Ableton 7.01 and have been experiencing many crashes (This week I had Ableton crash on me while I was playing live at a show!). The crash happens when I am dragging songs in from the file browser into the clip area. This crash happens every day or two, but once it occurs, and even if I restart the program, it tends to keep on crashing quite often until I restart the computer again.

My computer configuration is pretty standard, its a 2.2 macbook pro (santa rosa) using the built-in soundcard. I'm not using any VST plugins, no external midi-controller, basically nothing special at all.

Please help, I really like Ableton but I'm disappointed that the program isn't as solid and reliable as it used to be. Now in the back of my head I'm really worried that its going to crash again at some inopportune time, as if I don't have enough things to worry about during a performance : )

anybody have this same problem? I've reverted to using Live 6.0.10 again b/c of this bug (but the problem now is that Ableton 6 can't read the .als files that Ableton 7 creates, so I have to rewarp a bunch of songs again)

Did you check the latest 7.0.2 beta?

I just actually experienced the same crash using 7.02b3. Sigh.

Happens to me all the time with 7.0.1. I have mine blackscreen/total restart crashing all the time. A real disapointment.

We got a bug report from hellobenny related to Live 7.0.2b4 ( http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83340 ) so we are working on that issue.
