CPU overload with 5 tracks...

I have a G4 Powerbook 1.25Mhz, 1.25 RAM, running Live Lite 6 for M-Audio.

I have 4 Midi Channels, each with a different instrument on them and one audio channel.

One of the midi channels output is routed into the audio channel input.

The CPU load think goes to about 80% and i get horrible distortion and clipping.

I think my Mac should b able to handle this setup so what's the problem?

Sorry to say but your config is really minimal... what kind of instruments are running on your MIDI tracks?

I use 2 Mallets Instruments
One synth
and another 3rd party plug-in that is routed into the audio track.

It's routed like that cuz it has a graphical interface that u control with the mouse and midi doesn't actually record those movements.

So when all those are running it breaks up pretty bad.
If i just play the 3rd party plug in, it breaks up bad.
And if i just play the mallets + synth it allmost starts to break up allready.

What i did is froze all the mallets and the synth tracks and soloed the main synth track and the 3rd party plug-in track and it's ok now, but still...i don't think it's normal even for my config...

What is a "normal" config for Ableton?

A basic config would be at least a dual processor system... maybe you can adjust the buffers so you have more latency but less CPU utilization... also check what your system is doing with only Ableton plug-ins and make sure your not running any other application at the same time...
