A friend of mine is using Logic and is somehow managing to use Logic with an old iMac - it might even be before the G4 iMac. He is a prolific producer but has to rely on using other peoples computers a lot as he cant get much out of his existing.

I was about to suggest to him to upgrade to a MacMini as he really can't afford much, but dont want top give him bad advice.

Anyone here using a MacMini for either Live and or Logic? If so, any regrets or limitations? I assume an external harddrive is a must, and I think he already has one, which is a USB unfortunately.[/i]

Today's MacMini's (2.0 Ghz) are equal to my Macbook which I bought in Nov 06. It's the same hardware AFAIK. So based on my daily usage I would say that I do not see problems in using Live. My Macbook has 2GB Ram, which I suggest to have and 120GB Internal HDD. I never use an external HDD but my track count can be low (16 tracks max) when compared to others.
