Ableton 6/Trigger Finger Won't Work!!! HELP!!

Hey guys, I thought I'd ask the experts. I'm trying to get my trigger finger to trigger some wave files that I've loaded into Ableton. Ableton sees my trigger finger when I touch a fader or pad (the midi indicator lights up), but it won't let me assign the playing of the file to any of the pads. I'm in midi mapper mode and I'm not seeing the midi control surface indicator light flash when I press anything on my trigger finger. I'm not sure what to do. I'm NOT a trigger finger expert and am having trouble finding anything on how to set it up for Live on the net or from m-audio.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Travis

In Live 6, use program 10 on the TF. That will control the 8 pads of Impulse. Also, make sure you go into prefs/midi and make sure you select the TF in the dropboxes for control surface.

When you load Impulse onto a track, select a preset and then hit the record arm button. You should be able to hear sounds.

Check the Live manual for setting up midi devices, go to M-Audio and download the TF manual, I think it's in the resources section. Poke around.

thanks, impulse works great. Is it possible to use the trigger finger to trigger scenes in the session view? For example; I've got my clips lined up on audio track 1 and I want to assign each scene to a pad. Is that possible. 'Play Scene' is not recognized in midi mapping mode.. In fact, I've never been able to assign any device in the midi mapping mode. I've only gotten the key mode to work.

thanks,
