static problems

i have live 6, when i record it has a static sound or popping sound when i use a acoustic guitar. my interface is mobilepre usb (m-audio). can someone help me with the set up and how to get rid of this problem.

1. Are you clipping? Red lights are bad.
2. What is your buffer size? You may need to increase it.
3. Is it only acoustic guitar? Could be a problem with your mic. Try recording line-level audio from something... a CD player, a synth... whatever you got.
