MPD32 - $499! Worth it?

I already have the MPK49 and I love it, but I've been looking for another dedicated set of pads. I've been tempted to pick up the pK again (it felt great!) but there's something infectious about the MPD32. It apparently has the MPC2500 pads (compared to the MPC500/1000 pads in the MPK49). $500 is a lot for JUST a pad controller though!

What do you guys think? I'm thinking street might be $425 and GC might give it to you for $400 out the door...Still that's a lot for 16 pads!

MPK 49 is 399, I dont think MPD 32 will be more then 299 or 349 recommended price., meaning once it hits the stores something around 250-300, it is just modified 24 which is 199 and will be probably replaced by 32.
I tip 300 and with time will go down with the price to similar like MPD24

Just turn this thing 90 degrees and you get 8 of them :)

btw... I love my mpd24. The faders are good and big and feel great. I might have to upgrade to the 32 since I really could use 2 extra faders.

/me comes in thread to once again bitch about AKAI.

Be weary about the first batch, wait for reviews to see if they have hardware issues or not. ...and 300$ more just for some friggin' extra switches and foot pedal inputs? wtf?

endless rotaries suck ass. you can't flick a knob on and off easily. turn it fast and it only moves like 1/4 of the way.

wouldn't recommend it for live use, studio only.

Ah. Someone hasn't read up on encoder acceleration - it's on the Axioms, the BCR2000 and many other units.

Nova Musik is going to be selling it for $299 ! Looks quite tempting---would have to wait until a few shipments before placing an order---make sure any kinks are fixed ala MPD24.
